My Favorite Things

In Uncategorized on August 19, 2009 at 12:45 pm

As I sit and enjoy my iced toddy at Cartel Coffee Lab in Tempe, AZ, I can’t help by day dream about all the places I love. As anyone who knows me well enough, I love hospitality: great restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, and everything else in between. I think its that I just really enjoy the experience of enjoying food & beverage, people watching, and seeing great ideas take off. So, I thought… “I should start blogging about these things.”

Now, these aren’t going to be Reviews. I’m no Yelp. These posts will be more like diary entries, without the drama and the heartache. (but maybe a little heartburn)

So, if my favorite things sound interesting (or at least better than listening to your boss complain about sales), stay tuned!

Make a T-Shirt, Don’t “tatt your arse!”

why, dear lord, why?!?

why, dear lord, why?!?

Dear Man full of tattoos,

Let me just be frank: this frightens me. Not because it’s scary. But rather, because of the permanency of such a drastic action. Why, I ask you, WHY would you do this to yourself?! What sort of satisfaction do you derive from achieving this full-body experience? There is no mistake, its a beautiful portrait, full of color and excitement, I don’t know where to put my eyes next… so much to see! Wait, is that hair I see in the crack of your bum? Oh my.

Now, I’m not trying to judge you. You have every right to do to your body what you see fit. I only ask you these probing questions out of fear that you will someday regret such a drastic display of art. Will you still feel such a loving affection towards a full canvas that will have undoubtedly, er, stretched and aged? Will you not look back and think “gee, maybe I should have gone with something bit smaller, or perhaps a bit less permanent.”

Let me take this handy opportunity to add a little plug for my business, which may have helped you express yourself a bit more enterchangably. At Brand X Custom T-Shirts we make custom one-off t-shirts. You could provide such a beautiful piece of artwork and we could have put it on a t-shirt or other type of apparel. One of the great things about this: You can take the t-shirt off. You can change your art everyday with a new t-shirt. So keep us in mind next time you need to show off some colorful art.

Yours Truly, Charles

P.S. We do Bandannas, too, which make great face masks. Perhaps a better choice before you tatt your face?
